We will be starting off with a walk around beautiful Thornton Reservoir, this is a 2.5 mile walk and will help us to feel we can fully partake in an afternoon tea afterwards at Thornton Community Centre. This location has a nice village hall feel, and is in a lovely setting as it overlooks the reservior.
This is about 11 miles from the city centre and is around a 25 minute car journey. Please note no transport is being provided, so if you need a lift please arrange this among yourselves. There is a small car park at the community centre but also lots of street parking nearby.
If you are not able to do the walk then you are still welcome to join us for afternoon tea. This will be a ‘come and share tea’, we are asking that everyone brings a contribution. We are looking for sandwiches, nibbles, cakes, desserts and drinks, etc. I know a lot of you ladies enjoy baking so look forward to sampling some of your creations! Alyson Graham and Christine Ostman are coordinating who is bringing what and should be in touch with you, or please feel free to contact them yourselves to let them know what you intend to bring.
There is no charge for this event but we are asking for food donations and a voluntary donation of £2 on the day to cover the cost of hiring the hall and providing hot drinks.
Beautify is all about getting together as girls and having some fun, developing friendships and glorifying God! Beautify events are relaxed and laid back so they are perfect opportunities to invite some friends and bring them to church without the sometimes overwhelming experience of a Sunday service.
There will be a range of different meetings and events on the second Sunday of every month, at St. John Street.
